Pair your Subaru with an Adorable Animal

Which Subaru vehicles are paired best with which animals?

Some of you will remember a blog post we wrote over the summer where we paired Subaru vehicles with types of wine. Well, in honor of our upcoming Adoption Day with the Humane Society of Chittenden County (HSCC) we've decided to do something a little similar! Please feel free to comment on your favorites, or any other animal pairings you enjoy :)

For more info on the Adoption Day, view our press release here. The nitty gritty is that it's this coming Saturday Dec. 1 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. - no appointment necessary!

The 2013 Subaru Impreza - the Impreza is bold and feisty, always up for a challenge on the road, and always there when you need it. It's undeniably loveable, reliable to the max and of course - rather attractive.

The 2013 Subaru Forester - the Forester is an off roader that can manage many obstacles, barriers and conditions. Most importantly, it's ready for any adventure, big or small, and will always be there for you when you're ready for a climb.

The 2013 Subaru Legacy - one of the most loveable; it's reliable, smart, loyal and traditional without being boring. Its great looks, comfort and added luxuries make the Legacy an amazing partner any time you need it.

The 2013 Subaru Outback - the perfect companion, whether you're on the road or off it. You can put trust in this one, and of course it'll stand by you. It's adventurous, safe and loyal - a perfect partner!

The 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek - the ultimate Vermont vehicle. It's adventurous in all elements; always ready for the heat or a climb in the cold. Want to get outside? Go somewhere exciting? This is your partner.

The 2013 Subaru BRZ - sporty, fast, fun and wild, while still being a Subaru just like any other. The BRZ is incredibly outgoing for its kind, but it'll always be the Subaru companion you know and love.

The 2013 Subaru Tribeca - Oh how the space and extra luxury make this a stylish yet functional ride. Wonderful for families; dependable and smart, this Subaru will take you where you want to go in extra comfort and added amenities.

Burlington Subaru to Host Pet Adoption Day for the Humane Society of Chittenden County

Hi fans! We're about to publish our press release about the upcoming adoption event, so here it is!

Burlington Subaru and the Humane Society of Chittenden County (HSCC) will jointly host a Pet Adoption Day at Burlington Subaru from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 1, 2012. The event is part of Subaru of America’s “Share the Love” event, an annual program where five different charities are selected; for every new Subaru vehicle that is purchased between Nov. 21, 2012 and Jan. 2, 2013, Subaru will donate $250 to the charity of the consumer’s choice.

For the fifth year in a row, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) has been selected, and has matched different Subaru dealers with local animal welfare agencies to host a variety of events, according to the ASPCA website.

This year, the HSCC and Burlington Subaru will join together to host an adoption event, where the HSCC will bring in animals from their shelter that are in need of a home to be showcased at the dealership for the day; there is no appointment needed to attend.

HSCC jumped at this opportunity to find new homes for hopefully four times as many animals in a single Saturday as we ordinarily would at our adoption center. We hope this event brings lots of visibility to our animals and exposes new people to the joy of adopting a shelter animal,” said Megan Stearns, HSCC director of development and outreach.

“Give the gift of love this holiday season” is the chosen slogan for the event, and Mountain Dog Photography’s Kelly Schulze will be on site to photograph complimentary holiday portraits of pets with their new owners.

In honor of the event, Burlington Subaru has pledged to donate $100 for every animal that’s adopted at the event.

“Being a Subaru dealer, we’ve encompassed Subaru’s general gratitude for the companionship that animals give us as people. We’re very happy to be working with the Humane Society on this event and we hope that, with the help from our community, we can find these animals good, loving homes,” said Burlington Subaru General Manager Steve Kelson.

Pre-approval is not necessary, but will make the adoption process at the dealership move more quickly, according to HCSS’s Facebook event page. To get pre-approved to adopt an animal please see the HSCC application here.

2014 Subaru Forester Set for LA Auto Show Debut

We've promised updates on the all-new turbocharged Subaru Forester as we got them, and here is the biggest yet! The 2014 Forester is debuting in the US at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show from Nov. 30 - Dec. 9.

Additions to expect from the 2014 Forester: it has options of either a six-speed manual (as opposed to five-speed on the 2013) or continuously variable transmission; both with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that makes 250 horsepower (up from the previous model's 224 hp). The CVT offers six and eight-speed manual models and Hill Descent Control.

Subaru says that the 2014 Forester has a "bolder profile" that is influenced by its Impreza sibling. AWD will of course be standard, and additional leg room and cargo area space has been installed. Optional features include a navigation system, rearview camera and a Harmon Kardon premium audio system.

If you can't wait for it, turbocharged doesn't interest you or you're just a fan of the original - view our 2013 Subaru Forester inventory, 2012 Forester inventory or our used Subaru Forester selection here.

Happy driving everyone!
