Kelley Blue Book has posted their top 10 Best AWD Cars & SUVs Under $25,000 list, and you'll never believe which brand has five of those ten spots! Not only is Subaru the only brand on the list that has more than one vehicle present, but it has five; the top five. Here's the list, and click on any of the model names to shop our online inventory of that model!
10. 2014 Kia Sportage
9. 2014 Nissan Juke
8. 2014 Mazda CX-5
7. 2014 Nissan Rogue
6. 2014 Honda CR-V
5. 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek
"And now, here come the Subarus.
The XV Crosstrek splits the difference between compact car and compact
SUV, with the added benefits of hatchback versatility and Subaru's
famous Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. It's also available as a
hybrid, Subaru's first." -KBB
4. 2014 Subaru Impreza
"The most affordable all-wheel-drive
vehicle you can buy is as capable a compact car as you'll find. And even
though it's the lowest-priced model in the lineup, it still has the
same superior all-wheel drive system as its pricier Subaru siblings." -KBB
3. 2014 Subaru Legacy
"Midsize sedans are the best-selling
cars in the country, and the Legacy is the only one that includes
all-wheel drive as standard equipment. It's also a really nice car, with
a solid reputation for reliability that often gets overshadowed by its
all-wheel drive distinction." -KBB
2. 2014 Subaru Outback
"The popular Outback is essentially a
higher-riding, wagon version of the Legacy sedan. If you need
go-anywhere capability and cargo flexibility, but don't want an SUV, the
Outback should be the first entry on your shortlist." -KBB
1. 2014 Subaru Forester
"Subaru's best-seller has been completely redesigned for 2014 and tops this list with a combination of ground clearance, cargo versatility and exceptional outward visibility, all of which make it easier to put its standard all-wheel drive system to good use." -KBB

The Subaru Outback Chosen as Consumer Report's People's Pick
While Consumer Reports was preparing their annual Autos Spotlight that includes their top-pick vehicles, they asked their Facebook fans to tell them what they thought was the best car on the market. From those posts, they derived a list of six vehicles that they asked people to vote on, those six were the Subaru Outback, Ford Mustang, Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry, Prius and RAV4. The winner? The Subaru Outback with 25 percent of the votes.
"The genre-bending Outback wagon stood out amid a crowd of popular models. Reading through the comments, it is clear that the Outback’s esteem is elevated by owners like Amy, who wrote, 'I love my Outback! The best car I have ever owned.'
In our tests, the Outback has earned a solid overall test score, but there are several higher-rated wagons. The key to its appeal is the rare blend of adventurous styling, frugal fuel economy (for the four-cylinder), generous interior space, and winter-ready features," according to the write up on Consumer Report's website.
Take a look at our online selection of the Subaru Outback and see if the "People's Pick" may be just right for you!

The Winter Rescue Vehicle: the Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid
Ezra Dyer posted an amazing article on Yahoo Autos last week that tells his story of how he used his Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid to tow several cars -- including a UPS truck and Toyota FJ Cruiser -- out of the snow where they were stuck during a storm. He wasn't sure he could do it; neither were the onlookers or local police officers on the scene, but everyone ended up watching in amazement as the XV Crosstrek Hybrid truly held its (and the other cars') own on the snowy roads!
Check out the video here, and of course, check out our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid selection online here!

Cost of Driving: What is Your Car Costing You?
Three Simple Ways to Measure Your Cost of Driving
For some, it's easy to lose track of what you're spending on your car. Use these three simple steps from wikiHow to determine what exactly your car is costing you each month.Calculate Your Fuel Costs
1. Write down the number of miles that displays on your odometer when your tank is almost empty.
2. Fill the tank without topping off.
3. Refill your tank when it's nearly empty again and write down the number of gallons it took when you refilled, again, don't top off!
4. Subtract the number from step three by the number from step one to see how far you've driven in between filling your tank. This number is roughly how many miles you'll get on one tank of gas
5. Divide the number of miles you've driven (step four) by how many gallons it took to fill your tank to see what your MPG was in that time frame.
6. Divide the distance you drive in one month by your MPG found in step five to get how many gallons you burn in one month, then multiply that number by the cost of a gallon to get how much money you're spending each month.
Maintenance and Insurance
1. Add together what you've spent in the last year in maintenance such as oil changes, tire change over services, parts, repairs, etc.
2. Divide by 12 to get your monthly cost.
3. Add together your inspection, registration and insurance costs for the year and also divide by 12.
Cost of Driving
If you want to figure out exactly what each mile is costing you,
1. Add the figures from the top two categories together, and divide by the distance you're traveling each month. Voila! Your cost per mile. (Keep in mind these numbers don't include depreciation of your vehicle, parking, tickets, etc.)
And if your vehicle is costing you too much, maybe it's time for a Subaru! :)
