Do it yourself heated slippers

Here's a do-it-yourself from Lifehacker on making your own heated slippers. Even though it's been warm this week, I think we can all expect a snowy winter here in VT. I haven't tried this one (yet), but it doesn't look too tricky. All you need is some cozy fabric, a sewing kit, a pair of your own shoes (for sizing purposes), scissors, tape, a pen and paper, and some rice.

Sounds doable, and functional! I can't wait to try these out. I don't know about you - but my house is very old and not very toasty.
