Merrill Continues to Get "Down and Dirty"

Merrill just renewed its contract with Michael Epstein Sports Productions as the title sponsor for Merrell Down & Dirty National Mud and Obstacle Series, which is presented by Subaru. The course consists of either a 5 or 10k series of military-style obstacles, strength tests and mud crawling. The event so far has raised $100,000 to benefit a nonprofit organization called Operation Gratitude that sends personalized care packages to troops overseas.

This sounds awesome! And so Vermont, so Merrill, and so Subaru. It's too bad that there isn't an actual event in Vermont (the closest one is in NY). Although I have heard many people talking about the Tough Mudder coming up on May 5 - the two sound similar. For some reason the thought of this Merrill/Subaru combo race is exciting to me, and the Tough Mudder slightly terrifying. The Tough Mudder has also raised money for soldiers, however; so far donating more than $2 million to the Wounded Warrior Project. I think it's just the barbed wire that turns me off of that one.
