Kiplinger (a finance and business magazine) recently composed a list of 10 Great Places to Live, and put Burlington, Vt. at the forefront with a No. 2 spot! With a metro-area population of 211,261, an unemployment rate of 3.5 percent, and a cost of living index at 122.5, Kiplinger can tell just by little details that Burlington, Vt. is a great place to be living in.

"Hugging the eastern shore of Lake Champlain, Burlington offers a cozy New England feel and stunning beauty, plus a vibrant and varied economy," the article said. With IBM, UVM, Fletcher Allen and other growing companies, there are lots of opportunities and less unemployment.

As we all know, green living is important here - as is our school system, which is ever improving and more sought after than ever. Kiplinger also highlights our love of farm-to-table food (very true!), mentioning Farmhouse Tap & Grill and Skinny Pancake.

Burlington has been ranking high on many charts; it was recently named the No. 1 place to raise children by Children's Magazine, and Vermont has been named in the top-10 happiest states by many different publishers.

Great place to live in one of the happiest states. Now we all know the unofficial state car is the Subaru - check out our selection of Subarus here!
